DESCRIPTION: EPW – Barraud & Lund, Cornhill, London, table roller lever fusee, 51mm, silver original consular HC bearing London hallmarks for 1837, incuse casemaker’s “JD“ marking, front of case with small image of elephant's head above a crown, white enamel dial, KWKS, lever escapement, 3/4 plate gilt mvt, s#2/3313 with matching serial number within case and on dial. CONDITION: Mvt: GRO, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous plates with one long fine scratch near s# and few short fine scratches on top plate adjacent balance, some mild ultra-fine scratch striations likely from light wiping; dial has two hls near 4, small edge chip at 6; near mint hands; case was originally gilt but retains only very small hints of exterior gilt finish while interior of case retains its gilt finish, case with weak lift spring inside front lid which opens case lid slightly but lid then moves limply open/closed beyond that point, case shows hardly any wear, front and rear with scattered very small dings, excellent engine turning detail, front hinge missing one end cap; tight bow; good glass crystal.
